The Blogger Tag

I am really into tags right now and I think I will stay that way. Such a fun way to make a post while helping a fellow blogger etc that originally made it! So they will turn up now and then in the future.

I have not on the other hand found a tag that is for Bloggers. There is one for Beauty Bloggers but not one for bloggers in general. So I thought that I'd just make a short one and share it with you! I would love for you to link me so that I can check out your answers if you decide to join in!

How long have you've been blogging and why did you start?
Well my oldest blog dates back to June 2008 but I'm pretty sure I've had others before that one...So 10ish years. I started blogging way back because...Well I wanted to share my life, it was slowly becoming a thing back then and it seemed interesting.

Is this current blog your first blog?
No. This blog is...I have lost count to be completely honest.

What would you categorize your blog as?
Geeky lifestyle blog. Because I feel it's the same kind of posts as a lifestyle blog has only mine are 90% geeky, because that's what I am to my very core. A geeky nerd of a fangirl.

Is it still the same kind of blog as when you first started?
If we're talking about this blog and this blog only then yeah, pretty much. But compared to a few years back, not at all. I used to blog more in a diary kind of theme. It's only the past 3-4 years it's become more directed to you, the amazing readers.

Top 3 things about being a blogger!

  1. All the amazing people you get to meet.
  2. The creative part.
  3. It's an amazing memory bank.

What is your favorite kind of post to write?
I love list posts. Not because they're easier and quicker to write but I'm a listaholic. I love my lists. I love writing them, planning them, breaking those big masterlists down into small ones and...and I just love my lists. I also enjoy wishlists kind of posts, my bank account on the other hand don't...

What is the hardest post you have ever written and published?
Out of the ones that I have pressed publish on...When I announced that Oliver had passed away. It's been almost 1 ½ years and it still feels so painfully empty, he was my best friend even if he was a bunny.

Tag 3 (or more) lovely bloggers!
And of course anyone else out there who wants to do it!

4 TV Shows I'm Watching On Netflix

One would think that how behind I am on most shows that's currently airing that I wouldn't check out a bunch on Netflix instead of catching up. But nope, of course I do that! How can one not check them out, there are so many! Netflix should come with a warning sign when getting it, don't you think?

Personally I love to pause a current game when I'm gaming games like Ghost Recon or Skyrim and watch something. And it's easier to do so with a TV Show instead of a movie. So here's 4 shows that I'm currently watching on Netflix!

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles Imdb description: Fictionalized account of actual events and people surrounding Lizzie Borden after her controversial acquittal of the double murder of her father and stepmother in 1892.

I think it's a no brainer why I'm watching this one. Not only is it about Lizzie Borden but she's played by Christina Ricci, I LOVE that woman, she's amazing. Like all that will be in this post I'm only a few episodes in but so far, so good.

Helix Imdb description: A team of scientists are thrust into a potentially life-or-death situation in this thriller, which begins with the group being deployed to the Arctic to secretly investigate what could be a disease outbreak.

If you like virus themed stories raise your hand! Not the best show out there but not the worst either. When it comes to virus themed shows (looking away from zombie shows) it's one of the better ones.

Zoo Imdb description: A young scientist searches to find out what's causing a rash of violent animal attacks.

This is one of those shows that I am not that wow over but I keep watching it. Hoping it will pick up as it goes (many badass shows are so damn slow at first) because it's a new story theme, for me at least.

The Expanse
Imdb description: A police detective in the asteroid belt, the first officer of an interplanetary ice freighter and an earth-bound United Nations executive slowly discover a vast conspiracy that threatens the Earth's rebellious colony on the asteroid belt.

I am going to be completely honest with you on this one, I checked it out only for the fact that Thomas Jane is in it. Yes I am one of those people watching stuff only for part of the cast. But you know what? I am in love. I thought I would be all meh about it like I usual am with outer space stuff (if it ain't horror, it ain't up my alley). But surprise, surprise it's my current favorite out of the 4 shows in this post.

Please remember, as always when I make a Netflix related post, that I live in Sweden and there for use the Swedish Netflix version. Meaning that the shows in this post may not be available in every country.

100 Something Movies To Watch - Horror Edition

After making the 100 Something Movies To Watch post I just had to make a Horror Edition of it! I LOVE horror to the point where people start to wonder if they should slowly back away and then run for their life...Which maybe isn't so good. But I swear I'm not secretly a serial killer or something like that.

6 Things I Do To Calm My Anxiety Down

I don't think it's a big secret that I struggle with mental health and one of those things being mayor anxiety of different forms. I battle with my anxiety daily and I have done so for a very (very) long time, pretty much for as long as I can remember even if I haven't always known what it is.

Please remember that these things below are what works for me. I do hope it can help others out there or at least give them a few quick things to work with to gain more stability in their life. But I am fully aware of that what is ones help can be someone else trigger when it comes to anxiety.
  1. Singing. Disney songs especially. I usually put on something like Disney or Moulin Rouge and just sing along loudly, and it feels like the anxiety flies out along with the lyrics. Don't matter if you can hold a tone or not, just sing.
  2. Walking. I walk pretty much everywhere, it's a rare thing that I take the bus if it's less than a two hour walk. If I do it's when it's late and there for more safe to take the bus...All though I'm known to walk home then as well hehe.
  3. Be Creative. It doesn't matter if it's re-vamping an old t-shirt or art journaling as long as it means creating something. Sometime patching a jacket etc works and sometimes I need to do a whole art journal spread depending on why I have anxiety.
  4. Cry. Sometimes all I need is a good and hard cry. My anxiety is often triggered by me feeling that I'm about to break down because I hate showing how I feel. I can be stone cold on the outside but everything that I am is screaming inside. Meaning if you've watched me in a heartbreaking situation and I haven't seemed to cared...Well then you don't know me.
  5. Talk about it. If you have anxiety because of a situation or a feeling no matter how small or big it is to those around you it's clearly big enough for you right now to give you anxiety so I find venting helps. Even if it's a person online who you never met. If you don't feel like talking directly to someone, maybe write a blog post if you're a blogger? You don't even have to publish it.
  6. Meditate. Any form. Whatever you think is meditation for you personally, do it. I try to mediate every single day to build up a defense against my anxiety (since I have it every second of every day on some level). Some days I take 10 min, other days if I can and need I can meditate for 1-2 hours.

My New Blog Schedule

Just like the title of this post say it's a little quick post about my new blog schedule! I've never had one before and the main reason is that I've felt I haven't needed it. But since my blogging game has been on the meh for a some time now I wanted to try this. See if it's easier to focus when you have some sort of deadline I suppose you can call it. And it is!

I find it so much easier to focus since I also decided to stay on top of things with one week at least. So before the week ends, next weeks posts should be ready to go live. And since it's easier to focus my motivation upped along with it.

My post days are:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

There will of course be weeks when it's a day late (because life happens and things get in the way) or one week here and there maybe there's just two posts etc. But I will do my best to commit to this schedule.

Do you have a blog schedule?
Do you find it works better for you too?

Old Blog Headers

So as I was spring cleaning my back up hard drive, you know the place where you put all the I'll-go-through-it-later shit and then wait for like a million years, I stumbled upon some old blog headers. And I thought it would be fun to share them in the blog!

A little fun fact is that I always used to have a dark background layout on my blog until I moved back to blogger (aka where we are at now). And all of these except for the last one is from that blog meaning a few years ago when that header style was the skizzle.

Do you have your old blog headers collecting dust in some old folder or do you just delete them? I think it's so much fun going through older creative work to see your progress around it and your change of what you prefer in style :) Like my blog layout is the opposite to what it used to be.

3 Random Facts About Me #3

  1. I love sleeping. I love sleeping during night. I love taking naps, long naps or short naps. I love sleeping when I'm in a car, train or bus. I love sleeping. Some days when I don't have work the next day and have nothing special planned I can get up super early just so I can take a long nap later that day.
  2. Coffee is life, it's everything. I don't think that many people know just how addicted I am to my coffee...I'm addicted to the point where if I go for too long without it (meaning I don't get a fix every morning and night) I get a migraine. I know it ain't good to be on that level of addicted to anything and I actually drink way less coffee than I used to.
  3. I find serial killers interesting. I have taken a lot of shit because of this interest. So let me just quickly inform that this don't mean I agree with what they did, I don't think their horrible acts was in anyway ever okay. But it has happened and part of human nature on the very dark side and I find the deepest darkest corners of human nature interesting. So yes I do spend hours of my time researching of serial killers through out time and watch a lot of documentaries about them.
